Curaleaf Clinic has been named Cannabis Clinic of the Year at the Business of Cannabis Awards.
The award recognises the work we’ve done to build a safe, evidence-led medical cannabis service for patients across the UK. As the UK’s longest-running medical cannabis clinic and one of the largest providers of medical cannabis care, we’re proud to see the work of our clinical and patient support teams recognised through this award.
Since becoming the first medical cannabis clinic to achieve CQC registration in 2019, we’ve focused on bringing the standards patients expect from mainstream healthcare into every part of the treatment journey.
Putting Patient Safety First
Patient safety sits at the heart of everything we do. Every patient case is reviewed through a mandatory multidisciplinary team (MDT) process involving specialist clinicians and pharmacists before treatment is prescribed.
This collaborative approach means clinical decisions are never made in isolation. Each treatment plan is carefully considered to ensure patients receive safe, appropriate care based on their individual needs.
Building the Evidence Base for Medical Cannabis
Research continues to play an important role in how we care for patients.
Curaleaf Clinic founded the UK Medical Cannabis Registry, which has grown into one of the largest sources of real-world medical cannabis data in Europe. The Registry helps improve understanding of patient outcomes and supports a growing body of research across areas including chronic pain, neurology, and psychiatry.
The insights gained through this work help inform clinical decision-making and contribute to the wider evidence base for medical cannabis treatment in the UK.
Supporting Joined-Up Care
Medical cannabis treatment should not exist in isolation from the rest of a patient’s healthcare.
Throughout treatment, we share secure clinical updates with patients’ GPs to help support continuity of care. By keeping healthcare professionals informed, we aim to ensure medical cannabis treatment forms part of a broader, joined-up approach to patient wellbeing.
Making Treatment More Accessible
Alongside clinical care, we’ve continued to invest in improving the patient experience.
Through our secure patient portal, patients can manage appointments, request prescriptions, and access important treatment documents in one place. By making these processes simpler and more convenient, we aim to reduce barriers to care and support patients throughout their treatment journey.
Learning From Our Patients
This award reflects the dedication of our clinicians, pharmacists, researchers, and patient support teams. Most importantly, it reflects the trust our patients place in us.
Every patient who shares their experiences, feedback, and outcomes helps us better understand how medical cannabis can support people living with a wide range of conditions. As we look ahead, we’ll continue listening, learning, and contributing to the research that helps shape the future of medical cannabis care in the UK. By improving understanding and raising awareness, we hope to help more patients access treatment when it’s appropriate for them.
