Dr Elisabeth Philipps is a clinical neuroscientist who specialises in the endocannabinoid system (ECS), medical cannabis, CBD and integrative (holistic) medicine. She has a passion for empowering people to manage their health through lifestyle and diet, as well as using cannabinoid and plant-based medicines. Dr Philipps is also Clinical Lead at the Medical Cannabis Alliance, helping to further cannabinoid medicine research and access, as well as policy reforms in the UK.
Dr Philipps graduated from Kings College London in Biomedical Sciences and went on to complete a research PhD in neuropharmacology at Oxford University studying brain pathways in neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s Disease. Dr Philipps continued into pharmaceutical research, heading up a team of neurobiochemists and pharmacologists to further our understanding of brain function in conditions like anxiety and sleep. Dr Philipps expanded her research and clinical skills into integrative medicine, gaining a Nutritional Medicine BSc and Institute of Functional Medicine certification, due to her own experience with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS); she used her own health as a subject and made a full recovery enabling her to further help others with chronic conditions.
